Proposition 50 Funds

Eligible Recipients: Federal, state, and local governmental agencies, and non-profit conservation organizations.

How Funds Are Allocated

The $940 million dollars in funding provided under Proposition 50 is allocated or awarded by the WCB through approval at tone of its quarterly meetings. The funding can be distributed through the WCB's various habitat protection, restoration and development programs, where the programs requirements match the intended use of Proposition 50 funding.

Parties interested in applying for funding, should review the WCB's various programs described on this website to determine what programs they may qualify under. More information on how to apply and how projects are evaluated and selected can be found under each program. It is during the evaluation of project proposals the WCB determines whether or not a project is eligible for Proposition 50 funding; it is not incumbent on the applicant to designate a funding source when applying for project funding.
